Sunderland fans are tired of watching their team underperform each week. The players just aren’t performing to the standard expected by supporters. With just two wins in his first 10 matches Phil Parkinson’s tenure at Sunderland has started quite poorly (WhoScored.com).
But some fans see a glimmer of hope. Benji Kimpioka and Duncan Watmore impressed supporters on the weekend. The duo came on in the latter stages of the game to save the match. Their pace was a breath of fresh air for fans. They want to see the pair given a serious chance.

We need as much pace as possible in the team for every game. We also need to stop playing 3 deep CM at home. At least 1 of them (preferably 2) need to get forward and help the striker.

We’ve been crying out for pace for years. That’s what the game is all about now. Every team we’ve played this season with the exception of perhaps Tranmere has given us a lesson. No brainer really.

But fans are critical about where they wanted to see the players played. They understand that Kimpioka is more suited to a forward position, not out on the wing. Some supporters suggest playing Kimpioka up top with Will Grigg. They are interested to see how that partnership would blossom.
Yes. But use kimpioka centrally.

I’d like to see grigg and benji play together but I have a feeling benji will be far more useful coming off the bench for the last 20-30 minutes.

Yes and I’d play Grigg an all. The man needs help up front, he can’t do it all himself. Either 2 up front or people pegging it into the box to help.

Do you want to see Kimpioka and Grigg partnership?
Does a Benji Kimpioka and Will Grigg partnership interest you?
Yes
No
What do we think?
New blood could be exactly what Phil Parkinson needs right now. An injection of pace into the team could get the players playing more exciting football. Most importantly, it could lead to a few more favourable results.
