It’s hard to take any positives out of Phil Parkinson’s time at Sunderland. In the 11 games that he has managed, Parkinson has achieved just two wins (WhoScored.com). When the club replaced Jack Ross for him there was a slight expectation that they could make small improvements. However, fans have seen an opposite effect take place.

It is difficult to imagine, but this is the same club that was playing in the Premier League less than half a decade ago. But alas, Sunderland are still in the EFL League One and don’t look like they will be escaping to the Championship any time soon. Fans took time to reflect on the direction of the club. They don’t see it getting any better. One fan compares Sunderland’s journey to that of the Titanic’s, while another predicts that they could face relegation.

They demand change and I demand it quickly. The club is in serious need of resurgence.

What do we think?

Looking at Sunderland’s recent results it is hard to disagree with what fans are saying. Hopefully, after a 10 day break, the squad can come back ready to compete again. If not, fans have good reason to fear the worst.
