Newcastle fans have been reminiscing over former Magpies midfielder Yohan Cabaye on Twitter.
This comes after the official Newcastle Twitter account shared a post on their page of a video clip of one of Cabaye’s goals for the club, a stunning strike against Aston Villa in January 2013.
This post then led to many replies from Newcastle fans who wanted to show their appreciation for the midfielder.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans showing love to Cabaye:

The Frenchman spent two-and-a-half years at the Tyneside club, making 93 appearances, scoring 18 goals and assisting 14 times (per Transfermarkt). During his time at the club, Cabaye scored some wonderful goals, including the one at Villa mentioned in the tweet.
Indeed, it appears as if the video of the former Newcastle man has gone down well with supporters.

What do we think?
It comes as no surprise that so many Newcastle fans have been showing their appreciation for Cabaye. The midfielder played a big part in Newcastle’s 2011/12 Premier League season under Alan Pardew where they finished 5th in the table. In that season, Cabaye scored four goals and assisted eight in one of Newcastle’s most successful seasons in the Premier League this decade. Despite Cabaye returning to the Premier League with Crystal Palace in 2015 after his time at Newcastle came to an end, he is still a player the fans at St. James Park remember fondly.
