Some Celtic fans believe that the club’s summer signing Greg Taylor is a better option for Scotland than Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson.

Taylor, 22, was in action for the Scottish national team recently in the international break. The left-back played in the nation’s 2-1 win over Cyprus last week and also started in their 3-1 win over Kazakhstan.

Not just that, but Taylor also managed to grab an assist each in both of the games, impressing in both the performances. Previously, he had played once for the Scottish national team, but that appearance came in the summer in a 3-0 loss to Belgium.

Some Celtic fans are gushing about the player’s performances and some feel he is better than Andy Robertson.

Taylor joined Celtic from Kilmarnock this past summer and signed a four-year deal with the Parkhead side.

Since arriving, Taylor hasn’t been given enough game time by current Hoops boss Neil Lennon. He has played only six times in all competitions for the club, appearing only three times in the Scottish Premiership.

Before joining the club in the summer, Taylor was a regular first-choice left-back at for Killie. He played as many as 41 times in all competitions. He also managed to rack up a tally of one goal and four assists.

When it comes to Robertson for the Scottish national team, he is the current captain and has featured 34 times since making his debut in 2014. He has a tally of three assists, while Taylor has already got two in three games.

Some more Celtic fans hailed the former Kilmarnock man.

What do we think?

Taylor may be playing regularly for Scotland, but perhaps that’s only because there is an absence of Robertson and former Hoops’ star Kieran Tierney from the side. However, maybe he has done enough there to warrant a place in the Celtic first-team and play as their first-choice left-back ahead of Boli Bolingoli.

It isn’t a case of playing every game. But Taylor deserves to be rewarded with starts and more game time in the next 2-3 Scottish Premiership games.
