Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to plead with their club to bring back on-loan centre-forward Elias Sorensen to the squad.
This comes after Newcastle news Twitter account @NUFC360 shared a post on their page that included a YouTube video of match highlights from Carlisle United’s 4-0 win over Morecambe in the Central League Cup where Sorensen scored.
This post then led to numerous Newcastle fans replying with their wishes to see Sorensen called back up to Steve Bruce’s squad.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans wanting to see Sorensen called up from his loan-deal:
He looks unhappy, bring him home

Look how deflated he is after the goal. They need to get him recalled

The lad looks thoroughly miserable…

Some Newcastle fans were also quick to notice how deflated and unenthusiastic Sorensen looked after he scored his goal. This then led to the Newcastle fans demanding the Danish striker to be recalled back to his parent club.
This post also led to Newcastle journalist Mark Douglas agreeing with the original statement made about the Dane.
Decent as it is, it’s ridiculous that he’s playing reserve team League 2 football.
This loan needs to be sorted out.

Victim of teams playing one up front?

I’d be curious to know what the vetting process was before he joined Carlisle.

What do we think?
The 20-year-old has only made eight appearances for Carlisle this season (per Transfermarkt). His lack of game time and his non-existent celebration for his goal against Morecambe could point to the assumption that he is not happy on his current loan-deal away from Newcastle. If the club can somehow bring him back to the club or find him a different club he would be guaranteed playing time at, that would almost certainly be a win for everyone involved.
