In early October, Neil Harris left his role as Millwall manager after taking over the full-time role on a permanent basis in 2015. The manager left on his own terms, stepping down for someone else to take control (The Guardian).
Earlier this week Harris sat down with talkSPORT where he explained his decision to leave. The message, while not necessarily directed at Millwall fans in particular, was well-received by supporters of the Lions. They appreciated his response and looked back on his time at the club with fondness.
While one calls him a legend, another suggests he was the greatest player to ever wear the Millwall shirt, referring to Harris’ time at the club during his playing days.
How many managers would have done that? What a bloke

What a great bloke. I wish him all the very very best. So dignified.

One fan appreciated Harris’ acceptance that it was time to go, agreeing with him that the club needed something new.
Club icon but it was the correct time to go. Tactically he was inept and his substitutions were poor. The crowd started to turn on him and it was inevitable that there would be a parting of the ways but I’m glad he went on his own terms.

Other fans would welcome Harris back with open arms if the opportunity presented itself. Another calls him the greatest manager the club has ever seen.
What a gentleman. Always welcome back. A living legend

What do we think?
With 125 career goals for the club, Harris is a cult hero for Millwall. While his time in management is on hold for now, Lions fans will continue to look back on his time at the club with fondness. But with Gary Rowett now in charge, fans will have to get behind the new manager going forward.
