Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to share their opinions on Naby Keita.
This comes after Liverpool fan Twitter account @AnfieldWatch shared a post on their official page asking their followers if now would be the best time for Keita to “announce himself” in a Liverpool shirt.
This then led to many Liverpool fans replying to the tweet with their own opinions on the midfielder.
Should Naby Keita replace Fabinho in the starting XI?
Yes
No
Here’s a sample of Liverpool fans discussing Keita:
Yup, unfortunately it was always going to take an injury for that to happen but this is an opportunity he cannot let pass

Sell him to Dortmund plus 30 mill for Sancho.

He’s never going to announce himself unless he has a decent run of games in the side. Frankly, that’s just not going to happen right now, unless we suffer some injuries and we are forced into it. Let’s be honest, if we do suffer a few injuries, then he’s likely to be one of them

This speculation on Keita comes after first-choice holding midfielder Fabinho suffered an injury in Liverpool’s midweek game against Napoli in the Champions League.
Heard it before but he isn’t good enough

It would be like a new signing but I don’t think we need him?

Too late, the damage is done.. doesn’t have the physical strength or mentality to survive life in the premier league. Curtis Jones is on the way !!

What do we think?
The essence of the majority of these criticisms seem to be around the fact that Keita has had opportunities in the past to make a mark for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but he hasn’t always taken the chance to do so effectively.
To be fair to the player, he has suffered his fair share of injuries since his arrival at Anfield in 2018 (per Transfermarkt). If Keita can keep his fitness in control and put in some good performances for the team, he would surely ease the strain that Fabinho’s absence will cause.
