Some Chelsea fans have been pleading on Twitter for Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake to return to his former club.
This comes after Chelsea fan account @TheBlues_ shared a post that contained a picture of the centre-half with the caption asking if any Chelsea fans would take Ake back at the club.
Interestingly, it has been reported that Chelsea can buy Nathan Ake back for £40 million.
This tweet then led to a lot of Chelsea fans replying positively to the tweet saying they’d like to see the Dutch defender back at the West-London club in the future.
Here’s a sample of Chelsea fans wanting to see Ake back at the club:
I will take Nathan Ake back with two hands.

Yes we need balance and tht comes from having a left foot CB n a left foot winger. That would give us a great balance in building out from the back n in attacking.

The 24-year-old left Stamford Bridge in 2017 to join Bournemouth for a fee of £20 million after a successful year on loan at the Cherries the previous year (per Transfermarkt).
Yes he offers depth and CB and can come on as a super sub full back to lock down matches

What do we think?
Despite getting a lot of love from some fans, it is unlikely that Chelsea will sign back their former player after selling him to Bournemouth. One potential reason for this is that Chelsea already have four centre-backs in their squad who are all fighting for a place in the team.
To spend more money on a player they sold without a guarantee of first-team action would be pointless.
