Some Celtic fans were feeling nostalgic about former midfielder Lubomir Moravcik and have hailed him as an ‘absolute technician’ after seeing a post regarding him on Twitter.

Moravcik is currently a manager but during his playing in Glasgow, the Slovakian had become a fans favourite. He had been at the club for four years and won two Premiership titles, two Scottish League Cups and one Scottish Cup as well.

Moravcik had played on the international level for Slovakia and Czechoslovakia, making 42 appearances in total for the latter.

Some Celtic fans have been feeling nostalgic about their club’s former midfielder and have hailed his abilities.

Moravcik had joined Celtic in the summer of 1998 from German club Duisburg and he left the Hoops in the summer of 2002 for Japanese club JEF United Chiba.

He had also played for French clubs Saint Etienne and Bastia during his playing career. He had begun his career at childhood club Nitra and he had also finished his career at the Slovakian club.

During his time in Glasgow, the midfielder had scored three goals in European competition for Celtic. Some Hoops fans also hailed his ability to use both his feet.

Moravcik had also played in the FIFA World Cup for Czechoslovakia in the summer of 1990, appearing five times for the country. He had assisted three times for the team as well during that tournament.

What do we think?

Moravcik was undoubtedly a cult hero for the club’s fans. His abilities lifted the Celtic faithful off their seats during his stint there and for all the love he gets from them, Moravcik absolutely deserves it.
