Some Celtic fans are buzzing at the performance of Christopher Jullien in their recent 4-0 Scottish Premiership win over Livingston.

The Hoops continued their winning run in the league following their win over the weekend’s opponents, as Odsonne Edouard and Scott Brown scored a goal each. James Forrest got a brace on the day too (BBC).

Celtic’s rivals Rangers also kept their run going, as Ryan Kent grabbed a brace and Ryan Jack got a goal of his own (BBC).

Jullien, who started the game at centre-back alongside Kristoffer Ajer, posted a message for the fans after the win. Some Celtic fans are gushing at the Frenchman’s performances and are hailing their new defensive star.

Jullien joined the Hoops from French club Hoops for a fee of around £7million. Since then, he has been a regular under Neil Lennon alongside Ajer.

The defender has played 22 times in all competitions for the Bhoys this season, scoring twice and assisting once too. In the Premiership, Jullien has made 12 appearances.

Before arriving from Toulouse, he had been a regular for the Ligue 1 side. Last season, the defender had played 35 times in all competitions for the club. During his stay there, he had appeared a total of 108 times in all competitions for the side and had scored eight times as well.

Some more fans hailed Jullien and one felt that he can help them win the treble.

In the Europa League for Celtic this season, Jullien has played all four games. He has won 2.3 tackles per game and has managed to make 1.8 interceptions per game too. He has also managed to make 5.3 clearances per game too.

What do we think?

Jullien, who is valued at £5.4 million (Transfermarkt), has rightly been one of the best defenders for the Hoops this season. He has brought the presence and physicality that has allowed him to bully attackers, as the aforementioned stats say. And at 26, he still has a lot to give for the club. For the fee they signed him for, Jullien is proving to be a bargain.
