Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to plead with their club to sign Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic in the upcoming January transfer window.
This comes after Villa fan Twitter account @Total_Villa shared a post on their page identifying the Serbian as a potential transfer target for the club.
This post then gathered many replies from Villa fans thinking a move for Mitrovic would be a good idea in January.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans hoping for their club to sign Mitrovic in January:
Knows where the goal is and would take some of the unnecessary pressure off Wesley

Would be a very good addition, a goal scorer who has a bit of attitude and nastiness a about him and can lead the attack alone.

I would take Mitrovic..good target man ,Premier league experience with NUFC and Fulham and knows where the goals are ..Yep one for me ..UTV

Mitrovic currently plays in the Championship for London club Fulham. The 25-year-old has played every minute of Fulham’s 16 league appearances this season, scoring 12 goals along the way (per Transfermarkt).
This impressive record will have surely played a big part in these Villa fans’ assessment of the player regarding a potential move in January.
Been saying for weeks we should go for him, especially as he’s still young

Said this way back in May once we got promoted. I’m shocked nobody took him at all. Perfect player to occupy the back line

Would 100% take him

What do we think?
If Villa are in the market for a goal-scorer in January, Mitrovic would be a good addition as someone with a proven track record as a goal-scorer in the Premier League. In 77 Premier League appearances for Fulham and previous club Newcastle, Mitrovic has 21 goals and seven assists to his name. If the striker does move to Villa in January, the club and fans will be hoping he can continue his goal-scoring form back in the top tier of English football.
