Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to share their appreciation for former defender Carlos Cuellar on the 10 year anniversary of his first goal for the club.
This burst of praise came after the player shared a post on his official Twitter account commemorating a decade since he scored his first Villa goal in a 5-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in 2009.
The post included a picture of Cuellar celebrating his goal as well as the official team sheet of the game.
This post then led to numerous Villa fans sharing their appreciation for the former defender.

The now-retired 38-year-old signed for Villa in 2008 on a permanent deal from Rangers for a fee of £9 million (per Transfermarkt). Out of the 14 clubs the Spaniard played for in his career, he made the most appearances for Villa with 121, scoring three goals and making five assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).
In his first season at Villa, Cuellar totalled an average of 8.3 clearances per game, whereas, in his final season at the club, he averaged a total of 2.9 interceptions per game (per WhoScored).

What do we think?
It’s good to see a former player still take pride in his achievements made at a club he played for over a decade ago.
