Aston Villa fans have been expressing their scepticism on Twitter over the latest injury update on midfielder Jack Grealish.
This wave of scepticism comes after Villa fan Twitter account @villareport shared a post relaying information originally announced on the official Villa website that Grealish will make his return to first-team training this week.
But this news only raised suspicions from Villa fans on the latest update.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans being sceptical on the update:
Heard that before.

3 times he’s arrived back to training fair play to the lad

He’s had more comebacks than Elvis the last few weeks

Grealish has been out with a calf injury he suffered in Villa’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City last month and has since missed Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Liverpool and their recent loss to rivals Wolves by the same scoreline.
Same as last week then boys, see you New Year’s Day for Burnley jack

I’ll believe it when i see it

They said that last week

What do we think?
Given the numerous injury updates saying Grealish is back in training, yet hasn’t found himself in the squad for Villa’s previous two games, the reluctance from Villa fans to believe this latest training update comes as no surprise.
Before suffering his calf injury, Grealish made himself an integral part to Dean Smith’s side. The 24-year-old, who is currently valued at £22.5 million, according to Transfermarkt, had scored four goals and made four assists in 12 appearances for Villa in all competitions (per Transfermarkt).
Having lost both games Grealish has missed, this goes to show how vital he has been to Villa this season.
