Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is being urged to sign Celtic youngster Tsoanelo Letsosa by his assistant manager Kolo Toure, as per Football Insider.

The report claims that the Foxes are one of the clubs in the race to sign the 16-year-old midfielder, who is earning rave reviews for his performances this season.

Toure held the role of an assistant under Rodgers at Parkhead too and he is known to be an admirer of Letsosa and that is why he has brought him to the former Liverpool manager’s attention.

The outlet believes that the Hoops are set to face a battle to keep the youngster at the club.

A rising star

Letsosa joined Celtic from local club Palace Park in the summer of 2017 and has been growing in stature since then.

He is a regular for the Scotland Under-16s and recently helped them in a Victory Shield competition. This tournament had attracted scouts from all across the world, as per the Football Insider report.

Letsosa was one of the standout performers of the tournament as the Scotland side and Wales won the competition after a 1-1 draw in the final fixture of the campaign. It was Letsosa himself who had scored the equalising goal for them against the Welsh Under-16s side.

TIF Tactics

Rodgers certainly would know Letsosa well from his time at Parkhead and the fact that Toure is impressed shows that there is something in the player.

This situation could be similar to what happened with former Celtic youngster Liam Morrison some months ago. He joined Bayern Munich in the summer as Celtic lost one of their prized possessions in the form of him. Losing another promising starlet in Letsosa would not go down well with the Hoops’ fans.
