Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, Morgan Gibbs-White, is set to miss the club’s Europa League tie on Thursday, Nuno Espirito Santo has revealed, via Tim Nash.

The 19-year-old missed training on Wednesday and is likely to miss the clash with Slovan Bratislava, as explained Espirito Santo (via Tim Nash).

With a suspected back injury persisting for the Englishman, Gibbs-White was an unused substitute against Arsenal last time out in the Premier League.

Wolves’ busy schedule

With a hectic period coming up for Espirito Santo’s side (via Express and Star), injury concerns for first-team players will be the last thing the Portuguese manager will want.

Having been in and around the first-team for Wolves this season (per Transfermarkt), the 19-year-old has shown his value in the senior set-up at Molineux.

While he is not a starter every week, the cover he provides will be somewhat missed for the Old Gold should he be sidelined for an extended period – with the club still fighting on three fronts (via The Guardian).

TiF Tactics – Will he be a big miss for Wolves?

With Ruben Neves, Romain Saiss, Leander Dendoncker, Joao Moutinho and Bruno Jordao all available to call upon in the central area of Wolves’ midfield (via Transfermarkt) – Espirito Santo should have suitable options.

Coupled with the youth team options which were blooded in the 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat to Aston Villa, with Taylor Perry and Dion Sanderson in midfield (as per Sky Sports), Wolves will have good cover.

When in comparison to Wolves’ bigger stars in the centre of the park, the 19-year-old, who is valued at £7.2 million (as per Transfermarkt), is eclipsed by all in terms of average rating.

Gibbs-White has scored a 6.32/10 average this term, meanwhile, Neves has a 6.62/10, Moutinho a 6.91/10 and Dendoncker a 6.45/10 (per Whoscored), showing Espirito Santo already has more capable players in that department.
