Tim Spiers has provided a rough injury estimate on Willy Boly.

The news was shared to Twitter via The Athletic journalist, Tim Spiers, who speculated on how long the 28-year-old could be absent for.

Spiers suggested that the Frenchman will be looking at being absent for Nuno Espirito Santo for months, as opposed to weeks (per Tim Spiers).

It has been suggested by medical experts, that with a fracture to the left fibula that was sustained by Boly, the 28-year-old could be looking at around the three-month mark for a return date (per Physio Room).

The post on the club’s official website, shared on Tuesday, stated that the Frenchman is progressing well two weeks on from his surgery (via Wolves).

While the central defender is doing work in the pool, he still remains unable to put weight on his leg and is still on crutches (as per Wolves).

TiF Tactics – Who will fill in for Boly?

There have been a number of replacements for the 28-year-old following his injury, but it is likely Leander Dendoncker will continue to cover for the Frenchman.

The Belgian defensive midfielder played the entirety of the game against Aston Villa as a central defender and impressed for the Old Gold (via BBC). The 24-year-old midfielder put in an 8/10 performance for Espirito Santo (per Express and Star) and made a number of crucial interceptions to see the game out.

While Willy Boly has an average rating of 7.31/10 for the season so far (per Whoscored), proving how difficult the Frenchman is to replace, if Dendoncker can continue in the form of recent he will provide suitable cover until Boly’s return.
