These West Ham United fans have given their opinion on the club missing out on talented Barcelona youngster Ansu Fati.
Fati, who is just 17-years-old, has already played eight times for Barcelona this season, however, according to Bleacher Report, a source has said that the winger’s family had “agreed terms” with West Ham.
Many of the fans weren’t surprised that the club failed to seal the deal and given the season so far, Fati might be feeling he made the right choice.
West Ham were ‘one document away’ from signing Barcelona’s new teenage star Ansu Fati last summer. His family had agreed to join the Hammers, but due to issues with his Spanish passport the deal didn’t go through.

He would have been stuck in the under 23s and sold to Middlesbrough in 4 years time anyway

Having hit the ground running at Barcelona and playing twice in the UEFA Champions League, it’s crazy to think what the £22.5m-rated teen (per TransferMarkt) might have been doing this season if the deal happened.
We’re very good at nearly signing players

What Do We Think?
Obviously, in hindsight this would have been an amazing transfer, however, Barcelona have given Fati a lot of game time, which is something we highly doubt West Ham and Manuel Pellegrini would have done, given the winger is only 17-years-old and Declan Rice (20) is the only one able to stake a regular place in the squad. It’s an interesting topic to look back on, but Hammers fans shouldn’t take this to heart that much.
