A lot of Spurs fans were singing the praises of Leicester left-back Ben Chilwell after his man-of-the-match display for England on Thursday night, with a lot of fans hoping to sign the 22-year-old in the upcoming January transfer window.
Chilwell earned a 10/10 rating for his performance against Montenegro, with an impressive three assists to his name.
The left-back is a graduate of Leicester’s academy and has averaged a 7.16 rating in the Premier League for the high-flying Foxes so far this season. With Spurs’ current woes at left-back, Chilwell looks to be the ideal signing for Spurs as they look to turn their season around, but they may struggle to prize him away from Leicester after their impressive start to the season.
Reaction from Spurs fans to Chilwell’s performance can be seen in the tweets below.
I’d love Spurs to break the bank and get Chilwell. Chuck in Maddison too while we are at it. #WishfulThinking

If only we had Chilwell at Spurs, especially on the set pieces – Kane would be loving it from corners.

Spurs should offer £100million for Chilwell and Perriera! Long term players and if we shifted some dead wood wouldn’t seem as costly!

Missed the boat with him now but Chilwell is a quality attacking full back. Definitely would have been worth Spurs trying to break the bank for.

Would love Chilwell at spurs. Should slap £40m down for him in the summer and see what they say.

How much would it cost to buy Ben Chilwell @SpursOfficial ?
Asking for Harry Kane.

Spurs fans would clearly love to have Chilwell at their club after his England heroics on Thursday.
What do we think?
Chilwell is a quality left-back for Leicester and would probably fit in very well at Spurs, especially with Danny Rose’s plans to run down his contract. Unfortunately, Leicester and Spurs are two clubs heading in completely opposite directions at the moment and it would be a surprise to see any Foxes player want to move considering their current form.
The left-back is currently valued at £31.5 million by transfermarkt, so it would take a big bid from Spurs if they were to approach Brendan Rodgers in January.
