Spurs fans were treated to the news that the club could make a move for West Brom defender Nathan Ferguson in January and it seems as if a lot of fans are excited by the 19-year-old.
According to Mail Sport (via RickySacks), Mauricio Pochettino is very keen on the young right-back as he looks to overhaul the Spurs squad in the upcoming January transfer window. The young defender has featured 13 times already for the promotion-chasing Baggies this season; scoring and assisting once.
A product of West Brom’s academy, Ferguson has established himself in Slaven Bilic’s side this season and has been a big part of their excellent start to the season, as they seek a return to the top flight. However, with the 19-year-old’s contract set to expire at the end of the season, Spurs could look to sign the England u’20 international at a cut-price in January.
Reaction from Spurs fans to their interest in the versatile defender can be seen in the tweets below.

Spurs need to start going after young Championship talent again. We’ve missed out on so many guys like Maddison because we didn’t want to risk that they’d make the jump but we need to start taking those risks again. Clarke was a good start

It seems like the majority of Spurs fans would welcome a move for Ferguson in January, with several fans hoping to see him replace Kyle Walker-Peters at full-back.
What do we think?
Ferguson has impressed under Slaven Bilic so far this season; averaging a 6.84 rating for the Baggies. With Spurs’ current woes at right-back; with the indifferent form of Serge Aurier and Walker-Peters, the West Brom man could be the ideal replacement in January.
However, the youngster is seemingly assured of first-team football at the Championship club and with them currently top of the second division; he could be playing Premier League football with his boyhood club as soon as next year; so it would presumably take a very good offer from Spurs to see him leave.
