Danny Rose has been heavily criticised by Spurs fans over the last few years and it seems as if the left-back has had enough, after he announced his intentions to run down his contract with the club.

When speaking with the Evening Standard (via Ricky Sacks), Rose vowed to see out the rest of his contract with the club; meaning he will likely leave Spurs in summer 2021.

The 29-year-old originally came through Leeds’ youth academy before moving to Spurs in 2007, before a succession of loan spells away from the club. He made his debut for the North London club in a memorable 2-1 win over Arsenal in 2010, in which he opened the scoring with a thunderous 30-yard volley.

In his 12 years with the club, Rose has gone on to make 209 appearances, but it seems as if Rose’s time at Spurs will soon be coming to an end. The full-back has endured a poor start to the season for Mauricio Pochettino’s struggling side; averaging a 6.61 rating in all competitions so far.

Rose’s admission that he won’t leave the club before his contract expires has frustrated a lot of Spurs fans on Twitter, as can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly not happy with Rose’s intentions and many will be hoping to see him leave the club before the end of next season.

What do we think?

Rose, who is valued at £22.5 million (Transfermarkt), has been criticised for his form so far a lot this season and clearly feels as if he doesn’t owe much to the club that he has been with since the age of 17. That suggests a real problem at the club, with several other key players already seemingly running down their contracts.
