Spurs fans were full of praise for Lucas Moura after the club shared a video of his goal against Olympiakos earlier this season.
Spurs tweeted a video of the 27-year-old’s effort during their 2-2 draw with Olympiakos in September.
Moura, who signed for Spurs from French champions Paris Saint-Germain in 2018, often struggled for game time under Mauricio Pochettino but was given a start by Jose Mourinho against West Ham at the weekend, which was followed up with another start earlier on tonight against Olympiacos.
The winger rewarded Mourinho’s faith with a goal at the London Stadium.
In his time with the club, Moura has made just 75 appearances for Spurs but has produced some memorable displays; including his all-important hat-trick away at Ajax in the Champions League semi-final last season.
Should Lucas Moura be starting for Spurs?
Yes
No
Reaction from Spurs fans to Moura’s goal away at Olympiakos can be seen in the tweets below.
Absolutely love Lucas, would be my first choice every time, don’t think he was ever given a fair deal. Scored a hat trick in semi final of champions league and didn’t even start in the final, unbelievable.

Kind of a one-trick pony but man does he score big time goals!! If he can add assists to his game, he will become lethal for the club!!!

Where has he been really, most of his goals were critical

These Spurs fans clearly rate Moura highly and will be hoping to see him make a big impact under Mourinho.
What do we think?
It is still baffling that Moura, who is valued at £36 million (Transfermarkt), didn’t start the Champions League final after his display against Ajax and it certainly seems as if the Brazilian was underused by Pochettino, with the winger having started just five games under the Argentinian boss prior to his departure.
A strong performance against West Ham will surely have put him at the forefront of Mourinho’s mind, with a start earlier on tonight against Olympiacos certainly backing that point up. And, he managed to grab an assist for Harry Kane’s first goal against the Greek club, so he certainly seems to have taken to life under Mourinho with ease.
