Spurs fans were full of praise for Dele Alli after the 23-year-old was instrumental in Spurs’ 3-2 win over West Ham at the weekend.
Spurs looked to be back to their best in the early kick-off at the London Stadium, as Jose Mourinho guided them to their first Premier League away win since January in what was his first game in charge of the North London side. Alli, who signed for Spurs from MK Dons in 2015, played a key part in both of Spurs’ first two goals against West Ham and received a lot of praise for his determination and unwillingness to give up in the second goal.
The England international showed great skill to recover what looked to be a lost ball, before feeding the ball to Heung-Min Son, who in turn crossed for Lucas Moura to double their lead. The midfielder has struggled for game time after his injury at the start of the season, but looks set to be a key player under Jose Mourinho and impressed against West Ham in an attacking midfield role.
Reaction from Spurs fans to Alli’s performance can be seen in the tweets below.

People saying Jose won’t like him, he’s a monster athlete with elite technique and is a killer in the box. Not every attacker has to be a lock picker with defense splitting passes, Alli is one of the most intelligent off the ball in the league & can go to next level under Jose.

Spurs fans were clearly delighted with Alli’s involvement in the goals at West Ham and will be hoping to see more performances of a similar nature in the games to come.
What do we think?
Although it was just one game against an out-of-sorts West Ham, Alli truly looked back to his previous self on Saturday and demonstrated just how dangerous he can be when given a free role in this Spurs side. Mourinho might just be the ideal manager to get the best out of the England international and he could prove to be one of Spurs’ most important players as they look to move back up the Premier League table.
