Spurs fans were treated to the news this week that the club are interested in bringing in Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nubel as a potential long-term replacement for Hugo Lloris.
According to European Football expert Kevin Hatchard on TalkSPORT (via Ricky Sacks), Spurs are considering a move for the 23-year-old goalkeeper but will face stiff competition from Bayern Munich for his signature. The young goalkeeper has earned comparisons with Manuel Neuer for his style of play and has started 14 games in all competitions for the Bundesliga side this season.
Nubel could be a long-term replacement for current first-choice keeper and club captain Hugo Lloris, who will turn 33 in December. The Frenchman has been out since October with an elbow injury, so Nubel could be thrown straight into the first-team to replace Paulo Gazzaniga should he arrive in January.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the interest in Nubel can be seen in the tweets below.

These Spurs fans are clearly hoping that the club acts on the interest in Nubel and tries to bring him in before he is poached by another big team.
What do we think?
Nubel is currently valued at £10.8 million (as per Transfermarkt), but his contract runs out in the summer so if the club are interested they may wait until the end of the season to try and bring him in on a free.
The 23-year-old has kept three clean sheets from 12 games in the Bundesliga and looks to be an excellent long-term option for Spurs, with age on his side, if they are able to convince him to move to the Premier League.
