Spurs fans were getting emotional after former assistant manager Jesus Perez posted a picture of Mauricio Pochettino writing his goodbye message in the Spurs dressing room.
Perez posted a classy tribute to Spurs fans and Pochettino on his Twitter, simply showing Pochettino writing a message saying goodbye to the squad. The message looks to say: “big thanks to you all, we can’t say goodbye but you will always be in our heart” and many Spurs fans are getting emotional about Pochettino and his assistant manager Perez’s departure from the club.
Pochettino was appointed Spurs boss in 2014 after his successes with Southampton but was sacked earlier this week following a dreadful start to the season which has left the North London club languishing in 14th place. Of course, the Champions League final was a highlight for the club, but now they’ll be looking to achieve bigger and better things under Jose Mourinho, who has proved he can win silverware in the past.
Pochettino and Perez were forced to leave a goodbye message to the players on a board after they were relieved of their duties during the international break and it seems as if fans were truly saddened by the nature of their sacking, as can be seen in the tweets from Spurs fans below.

Spurs fans were clearly devastated by Pochettino and Perez’s departure despite the start to the season and the majority seem to wish the two all the best in their future.
What do we think?
Pochettino should go down as a Spurs legend for his work with the club; having won 160 of his 293 games in charge of the North London club. It seems as if the 47-year-old was let down by certain players not performing and was not backed by Daniel Levy with the funds he needed to turn things around in January.
It will be interesting to see how Perez and Pochettino do wherever their next managerial project may be.
