After it was revealed that Mauricio Pochettino refused to walk away from the club, some fans were loving the fact that the Argentine’s actions resulted in Levy having to compensate him.
It was reported by The Times (via HotspurRelated) that Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy were unable to come to an agreement about the Argentinian resigning from the club, with the former Spurs boss’ refusal resulting in Levy paying out.
The 47-year-old boss had led Spurs to a Champions League final in May, but seriously struggled in the Premier League this season; with the North London club currently 14th in the league.
Despite recent form, Pochettino had won 132 of his 256 games in charge of the club and he will no doubt be remembered for the work he did in his time with the club.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news of Pochettino’s refusal can be seen down below:

Don’t blame him at all for this. Why should he just walk away with nothing after everything he has done.

It seems as if the majority of Spurs fans are delighted that Pochettino was able to get the pay off that he deserved after being sacked and many will be hoping that he continues to have an excellent managerial career.
What do we think?
It is no surprise that Pochettino was unwilling to simply walk away from the club after he signed a lucrative contract extension last year which should have taken him through until 2023.
Spurs fans may be happy for their former manager now, but it could affect their future signings, with Levy perhaps less willing to allow Mourinho to splash the cash in January after such a big payout to Pochettino.
