Spurs fans were left cursing their luck after it was announced that Erik Lamela would miss their Sunday trip to Goodison Park due to a hamstring injury.
Lamela, who signed for Spurs from Roma in 2013, has suffered regular injuries throughout his time at the North London club. The winger was brought in following the sale of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid but hasn’t really performed at the same level as his predecessor.
The 27-year-old winger played superbly in their 5-0 win over Red Star recently, with fans possibly hoping it would result in a strong spell of games for the Argentinian. However, a hamstring problem means the winger will miss out on Spurs’ trip to Everton as he undergoes treatment on the injury.
Reaction from Spurs fans to the news on Lamela’s injury can be seen in the tweets below.
We won’t see Lamela until 2020

May as well try and get some cash back for Lamela. I like the guy, but it’s just not worth it.

Maybe time to add Lamela to sell list?

He’ll be out for ages now as per usual I suspect

Spurs fans are disappointed that Lamela, a player who has been one of their star men in a poor season, is out injured once again.
What do we think?
Lamela has started this season in decent form, averaging a 6.94 despite Spurs’ poor form. However, he has been with the club for more than six years now and has yet to really get going in a Spurs shirt, with just 16 Premier League goals during his time in England. Considering his injury history, it may be time for Spurs to move him on, but fans will always have fond memories of that goal he scored against Asteras Tripolis in 2014.
