Some Manchester United fans can’t get over the performances of Scott McTominay, who has been awarded the club’s Player of the Month for October.

McTominay was on the scoresheet for United in their 3-1 win over Norwich City and fans have been impressed by how well he has played this month.

So far this season, the Scotsman has made ten appearances in the Premier League. He has scored twice and has assisted once too. He scored for the club in their 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford last month too.

Some United fans can’t get over how well he has played this season.

McTominay made his debut for the Old Trafford-based side at the end of the 2017-18 season under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho, who gave him his own Player of the Season trophy to the midfielder at the end of that season.

He has now made 60 appearances for the United first-team, scoring four times, assisting once during this time.

Against Chelsea in their fourth-round League Cup tie, McTominay won five tackles and made just as many interceptions. He also won one aerial duel in the game.

Some United fans also made some lofty comparisons.

One fan even said that McTominay reminds them of ex-United man Darren Fletcher.

McTominay is a product of the United youth academy and has already played 12 times for the Scottish national team.

What do we think?

Whoscored states that McTominay has been United’s fifth-highest rated player in the United side, behind Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. But only Rashford has played as many games as the midfielder, with the other three have played less than ten games.

Considering how United let go of Ander Herrera on a free transfer, McTominay has done enough to replace him, whilst his determination and tenacity appears to be irreplaceable.
