Manchester United fans are hopeful that their Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic could depart the club in January after it was revealed that Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are interested in the 31-year-old.
According to ESPN (via utdreport) Diego Simeone’s side are big fans of the former Chelsea midfielder and could look to sign him in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Serbian has made 92 appearances in his time at the club and was a regular under Jose Mourinho but has featured just five times under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.

One fan even suggested that Jose Mourinho would bring the Serbian to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, which would be fitting as he signed him for both Manchester United and Chelsea.

These tweets clearly show that Matic is far from popular at Old Trafford and the majority of fans would love to see him leave the club in January.
What do we think?
Matic is clearly not a fan favourite and seems to have lost a lot of pace during his time at United, but he has proved to be an effective back-up with his strong performances in the Europa League; averaging a 7.22 rating. The Serbian is probably on his last legs at United and they will do well to sell him at his current valuation of £22.5 million (Transfermarkt), so if Atletico Madrid do approach him in January then it would not be a shock to see him go.
