Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has been inducted into the League Manager’s Association Hall of Fame along with Jurgen Klopp. The pair were presented with a commemorative shield by England manager Gareth Southgate and Sir Alex Ferguson at the LMA’s event on Thursday evening.

Guardiola described it “as a privilege” and went on to say: “When you come down the corridor you see all the big managers who have been here to help make football better, to make the football we have right now. Of course, it’s an honour.”  Here’s how the clubs fans have reacted to the news.

Is Pep Guardiola the greatest manager the Premier League has ever seen?

What do we think?

Since his arrival in the Premier League Pep Guardiola has torn up the record book. During the 2018/19 season, his City side became the first club to win all four of the UK’s domestic trophies in a single campaign and became the first boss to retain the title in a decade.

During his speech, the Spaniard was quick to attribute most of his success to date to his extremely talented group of players.

“I think all the managers in the Hall of Fame were in incredible clubs with incredible players. There are no secrets.

“Without the quality of the players that you have, the managers cannot have success.”

Guardiola has become the 11th LMA hall of fame inductee and joins Steve Coppell, Sven-Goran Eriksson, Brian Horton, Kevin Keegan, Howard Kendall, Roberto Mancini, Joe Mercer, Stuart Pearce, Manuel Pellegrini and Joe Royle on the list.

His place amongst that list of famous managers is fully deserved and it’s pretty safe to say he will be remembered as the best of the lot.
