Some Crystal Palace fans are fuming at the club’s recent links with Liverpool youngster Rhian Brewster and they’ve made it clear that their club should not sign the former England Under-17’s hero.
Reports from the Daily Express have claimed that the Eagles are ‘close’ to signing Brewster in January on a loan deal. But they will also face competition from Aston Villa for the youngster.
The report claims that Brewster is set to be made available for a temporary deal till the end of the season as Liverpool have realised the need for the player to acquire more first-team experience.
Some Palace fans are not happy and feel that they are fine without him.
How strange and pointless

Please no what’s the point in this signing, another player who’s not going to make an impact

While we have Brandon Pierrick scoring a hatrick in u23s. Let’s improve Liverpool teenagers, like we did with Chelsea’s loftus-cheek, or AWB then sell

He is gonna get the same amount of game time as Camarasa and I don’t think he’d too much in the premier league at the moment. Better off going for him in like 2-3 years.

So far this season, Brewster has not played a single time in the Premier League for the Reds. But he has played two League Cup games and those appearances came against MK Dons and Arsenal. Both of them were starts.
He has been playing for the club’s reserves side though. He has played seven times in the Premier League 2 for the Under-23s side, scoring four times and racking up one assist as well. Even in the UEFA Youth League, Brewster has played twice and has one goal to his name.
Last season, the 19-year-old had played only twice for the Under-23s and has sustained an ankle injury that had kept him out for a big part of the season. He made his debut for the England Under-21s side in September earlier this year and has played six times since.
What do we think?
It is fair to say that Palace do need goals from somewhere. So far this season, the Eagles have scored the second-least number of goals with a tally of only 11. Relegation-threatened Watford are the only side to have scored less goals than them.
This shows that Roy Hodgson will need a striker to ensure Premier League safety. But that striker should be someone who has played in the Premier League in the past and has scored some goals for a club of the Palace level. They need an established striker and not an upcoming stalwart like Brewster.
