Caglar Soyuncu has been a rock at the back for Brendan Rodgers and Leicester City so far this season. The Turkish international joined the club from Bundesliga side Freiburg and since the sale of Harry Maguire to Manchester United, has stepped up and made the position his own.
Leicester currently have the best defence in the Premier League when considering the number of goals conceded (per the Premier League’s official website) and by quite some distance with Soyuncu being one of the standout performers.
Labelled by the club’s official Twitter account as the ‘Turkish wall‘, these Foxes fans have expressed their desire to see the Turk partnered with his international teammate Merih Demiral.

What do we think?
Soyuncu is making quite the name for himself not only at club level but also on the international stage with his native Turkey. He and Demiral of Juventus were key in their nations successful Euro 2020 qualification campaign and that has prompted these Leicester fans to want to see the pair united at club level. Demiral currently plays his football for Serie A giants Juventus but has only featured once for Maurizio Sarri’s side in the league this season.
It remains to be seen how long the 21-year-old will remain at Juventus without the game time he requires to develop further and so who knows, perhaps he’ll end up at the King Power stadium someday.
