Everton supporters have expressed their desire to see Romelu Lukaku return to Goodison Park one day.
The question was posed to Toffees fans by the Liverpool Echo on Wednesday, following an article that suggested the Goodison Park club had not replaced his goals since his departure (per Liverpool Echo).
Seemingly having a cult hero status amongst the blue half of Merseyside, supporters stated that they would jump at the chance to see the Belgian return should the opportunity ever arise.
Hell, yes. Look what happens when we don’t have RL upfront

The 26-year-old forward spent four seasons at Goodison Park, having signed for a club-record fee of £28 million in 2014, after spending a year on loan from Chelsea with the Toffees (per BBC).
During that time, Lukaku bagged an impressive 87 goals and 29 assists in 166 outings for Everton (per Transfermarkt), before departing for Manchester United in 2017 (per Sky Sports).
With no striker coming close to the goal tally of the, now, Inter Milan frontman since his departure (per Liverpool Echo), Toffees fans wanted to see him make a Merseyside comeback, but some doubted it would ever happen.
Anyone who says no, doesn’t understand the game.

Rom is still quite young and a proven goal scorer. I would like to see him back in the Everton squad but it will never happen.

why not – proven goalscorer and the best we’ve had since @TonyCottee9

What do we think?
You would have to wonder how any fan would ever argue that they would not want to see the return of a striker that had 116 direct goal involvements in four years (per Transfermarkt).
Despite a tough few years at Old Trafford, the Belgian has nine goals in 12 Serie A appearances this term, proving he still has it (via Transfermarkt), meaning that an Everton return is unlikely to be on the cards – for now, at least.
