Supporters of Everton have reacted negatively to the reported interest that the Toffees have made a bid for Rafael Santos Borre.
According to Comu Tricolor and Publimetro, FOX Sports reported that the Merseyside club have made a €15-million (£12.8m) bid for River Plate’s Colombian striker (via Sport Witness).
With the link between the club and the 24-year-old being shared to Twitter (via The Gwladys Street), some supporters were unsure whether he was the target the Toffees should be chasing.

Can’t wait for the work permit banter.

Does he have enough pace for the prem? Can’t be signing another Tosun

Would Rafael Santos Borre receive the same treatment as Moise Kean from Marco Silva?
Yes
No
The Colombian frontman has bagged an impressive return for his Argentinian club this term, with seven goals in 11 league outings (as per Transfermarkt).
Valued at £6.75 million, the Toffees’ reported bid of £12.8 million may still not be enough to bring the striker to the Premier League, as he has a release clause of €30 million (£25.5m), according to Sport Witness.
Due to Marco Silva’s treatment of Moise Kean, who has had only two league starts since his summer arrival (as per Transfermark), others felt Borre may suffer a similar fate.
What’s he pike at sitting on the bench?

Why to sit on bench like mois kean we got a good striker right there in front of silva

However, aside from predicting problems to gain a work permit, and feeling a lack of game time would become an issue, some Everton fans felt there was even more wrong with the deal and perhaps more than meets the eye.
Are you sure its only 12m going by our inflated prices it’s got to be 80m…

Hopefully the club have been in touch with river over Gallardo and sold a story to the journo as cover

What do we think?
Seven goals, with an assist as well, in 11 league games is a fantastic return for the Colombian striker so far this term.
Still only a 24-year-old, also, the attacker has youth on his side and should Everton’s bid of £12.8 million be successful, it would be a snip to bring in Borre.
