Everton supporters are unsure over the link between the club and Flamengo’s Jorge Jesus, who may replace Marco Silva.
Following defeat to Norwich City on Saturday, rumours were rife that the Toffees’ 42-year-old manager was due to be relieved of his duties on Merseyside (per The Sun).
Interestingly, Jesus was thrown into contention on Tuesday night (as per Diario de Noticias).
The rumour was shared to Twitter via multiple fan accounts, which led to uncertainty over whether he would be the right choice to lead the Toffees forward.
That’s David Moyes in a wig

One fan even suggested that perhaps Marcel Brands had suggested the Brazilian, which could be down to a report from The Sun on Sunday (13/10/2019; pg 63) (via Boot Room). The report claims that director of football Marcel Brands has identified Brazil as an area to investigate regarding potential recruitment at Everton, so perhaps he has turned to that region of the world in the club’s pursuit of a possible Marco Silva replacement.
Reckon he’s Brands suggestion

I don’t think even Jesus can help us…

No disrespect, but can he communicate?….in English?….because I think communication & understanding is vital, with nothing lost in translation !!

Because he knows British football and the Premier League well enough to illicit immediate changes in fortune on the field. As. If.

Too risky right now!

Would Jorge Jesus be a good appointment for Everton?
Yes
No
The Portuguese 65-year-old has been in charge of his Brazilian outfit, Flamengo, since June of this year and has an average of 2.45 points per game over his 33 in charge (as per Transfermarkt).
In the past week the experienced manager guided his side to a famous victory in the Copa Libertadores final against Argentinian side River Plate (as per The Guardian).
Then, 24 hours later, Flamengo was awarded the Brazilian Serie A title with four games to spare and without kicking a ball due to Palmeiras suffering defeat against Gremio (as per BBC).
Despite having 14 pieces of silverware to his name (as per Transfermarkt), Everton supporters were still unsure on the 65-year-old.

Who’s this fella? We’ve got a habit of turning managers grey, think we might see this fella off
— Colin Foster (@colin769) November 26, 2019
Don’t think so, he is 65 years old & has only managed in South America. Not exactly “one for the future”

What do we think?
Having also managed in Portugal, as well as Saudi Arabia (per Transfermarkt), that must be quite a strange world map that some Toffees supporters are looking at.
But, Jesus has won trophies almost wherever he has managed and he certainly has a strong managerial pedigree.
The problem with Arteta for some Everton supporters, was his lack of experience, and the 65-year-old has that in abundance.
It is true, however, Jesus may not be a long-term answer for Everton – to put strong foundations in – but that will entirely depend on which route Farhad Moshiri wants to take the Goodison Park club down.
