Gomes has been in Merseyside since his £22.5 million move from Barcelona over the summer, following a season on loan at Goodison Park (as per Transfermarkt).
The Porto academy graduate has featured in 38 games for Marco Silva’s Toffees side, scoring one and assisting two in the process (via Transfermarkt).
With surgery on the 26-year-old’s fractured and dislocated right ankle having taken place on Monday (per Everton), supporters were keen to see Gomes back on his feet as soon as possible.

What do we think?
Gomes’ injury was, without doubt, a horrific one that shook those in attendance at Goodison Park on Sunday, and none more so than the challenger, Son (per The Guardian).
It will, no doubt, be a long road to recovery but hopefully, the Portuguese midfielder can make a speedy return to action.
