Everton’s Cenk Tosun has again been linked with a possible move to Turkish side, Besiktas, according to Aksam.

The Turkish news outlet has reported that the Black Eagles’ manager, Abdullah Avci, has given the green light over a move for the 28-year-old to be made in January (via Sport Witness).

Impending Euro 2020

One factor which may prove pivotal in a departure for the striker is having Euro 2020 on the horizon.

Despite having had a reluctance to leave Goodison Park in the past (as per Daily Mail), a lack of game time before January may be the deciding factor in any winter move.

With only two Premier League starts to his name so far this term, and a further two substitute appearances (as per Transfermarkt), the £13.5-million rated man may want out.

TiF Tactics – Would Tosun be missed?

Despite starting the previous two games under Marco Silva, against Southampton and then Norwich City, the Toffees do have viable cover in the striker position should he leave (per Transfermarkt).

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Moise Kean and Oumar Niasse at first-team level and young attacker Anthony Gordon coming through the ranks, the Merseyside club would not be short without the Turkish international.

Of the four, Calvert-Lewin ranks highest in terms of average rating for the season so far, with three goals in 11 games earning him a 6.5/10 average rating (as per Whoscored).

While not fantastic, that score outranks Tosun’s 6.35/10 and Italian forward, Kean’s, 6.18/10 (via Whoscored).

So, should the Turkish striker depart and Everton try to recoup some of their initial £27-million outlay (per Sky Sports), they will have a more suitable first-team option and ample cover for the one striker spot of their 4-2-3-1.
