Everton: Supporters want to see Oumar Niasse given another first-team chance

|

Some fans of Everton have expressed their desire to see Oumar Niasse reinstated to Marco Silva’s first-team set-up.

On Tuesday night the 29-year-old bagged a brace for the club’s Under-21s against Crewe Alexandra in the Leasing.com Trophy (via Everton).

The Senegalese striker’s double helped the young side to a 2-2 draw, but the Toffees then went on to lose the penalty shootout to the Alex, 5-4 (as per Crewe).

Niasse last featured in Premier League action whilst on loan at Cardiff City last season, in a 1-0 defeat to Fulham, however, following his two goals some Toffees supporters wanted to see him given a second chance.

The 29-year-old has scored nine and assisted four over 39 appearances during his stint at Goodison Park, having joined for north of £16 million from Lokomotiv Moscow in February 2016 (as per Transfermarkt).

Niasse had two loan moves away from Merseyside during his time with Everton, first to Hull during the 2016/17 season and the next to Cardiff last term – where he failed to find the net in 13 league outings (via Transfermarkt).

While some wanted to see the Senegalese striker given a second chance, others had forgotten the 29-year-old still played for the Toffees.

What do we think?

With Everton reportedly looking to shift Niasse onto another club in January (via Liverpool Echo), it feels unlikely that the supporters will see their Senegalese man in blue again.

With three capable strikers ahead of the 29-year-old and only one usually fitting into Silva’s system (per Transfermarkt), it makes little sense from a tactical point of view either.
