It’s been coming for a few weeks now but Arsenal have finally pulled the trigger on their underperforming Head Coach Unai Emery. The Spaniard has left the club after just 18 months in charge but according to a report in the Athletic, the club’s Head of Football Raul Sanllehi is said to have been pushing for a contract extension for his compatriot as recently as the start of the season.
These latest reports have led to many supporters wondering whether or not Raul Sanllehi is the competent leader they thought they had brought in from Barcelona.

Do you trust the Arsenal hierarchy to appoint the right manager?
Yes
No
What do we think?
If indeed the reports are true, you can understand why these supporters are concerned. Raul Sanllehi has been entrusted with overseeing all footballing matters at the club and at a time where the fan base were united in their desire to see the Head Coach sacked he was willing to offer him a contract extension.
That will no doubt raise question marks over his suitability to the role, so can he be trusted to identify the next manager? The coming days/weeks will give everybody a better understanding of the ambition the clubs hierarchy have. There is a desperate need to appoint somebody with the experience and steel to guide the club through yet another turbulent period.
