Arsenal are reportedly struggling to persuade star strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to put pen to paper and sign contract extensions. As per the Daily Mail, negotiations have begun with the pair but as of yet, no agreements have been reached. According to Transfermarkt, Aubameyang’s contract is set to expire at the end of next season and Lacazette’s would be up at the end of the following season.
Given past experiences, the Gunners fans will be desperate to see two of their prized assets commit for the long-haul. The club lost Aaron Ramsey, a fan favourite last season to Juventus after his contract expired and have seen the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Robin van Persie sold at low-cost prices due to entering the last stages of their contracts. With the club having failed to secure UEFA Champions League football for this season and Unai Emery at the helm, these fans aren’t surprised.
Arsenal have been trying for some time now to get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette to sign new contracts, but so far the talks have proved unsuccessful [@charles_watts]

Yeah! We can understand why. They play under a man whiteout vision and poor tactics. It’s understandable. They deserve to play in the best tournament in the world CHAMPIONS LEAGUE #EMERYOUT @Arsenal #AFC ???

What do we think?
Arsenal have been notoriously bad at handling contract extensions in recent years and it has cost them dearly. It was widely thought that was the fault of the previous regime, therefore, all eyes are on Raul Sanllehi and company to ensure the club don’t find history repeating itself.
Lacazette has scored 38 goals for Arsenal in 95 appearances and Aubameyang scored his 50th in just 78 appearances during the weekend’s draw with Wolves. You need not look any further than the numbers to understand exactly how pivotal these two are to the Gunners fortunes and why the club simply cannot afford to let them run their contracts down.
