Arsenal are being lined up with a Portuguese coach to replace Unai Emery and this time it’s not Jose Mourinho. Benfica’s Bruno Lage is the latest name to be suggested with a potential move to the Emirates Stadium. The 43-year-old led the Lisbon giants to the title and the domestic super cup despite taking over in January of this year.

It’s clear large sections of the Arsenal fan base are unhappy with Emery’s current performance but are they convinced Bruno Lage is a suitable replacement?

What do we think?

Despite Emery being under intense scrutiny from the club’s supporters, the Arsenal hierarchy have given no indication they are considering terminating the Spaniard’s contract. Lage has earned recognition for his impressive work at Portuguese giants Benfica. He’s won 27 of his 29 Ligue NOS fixtures and could develop into one of world football’s top managers in the coming years but seeing Emery struggle to adapt to life in England will breed uncertainty amongst the fans when it comes to hiring somebody with no Premier League experience.
