William Saliba has suffered an injury to his fifth metatarsal. Saliba signed for Arsenal in the summer but the agreement included a loan back clause to Saint-Etienne with the player’s development in mind. The 18-year-old has been in impressive form of late but has now been rocked by an injury that could see him miss up to four weeks.
Historically, the Arsenal have struggled keeping key players fit and having heard about Saliba’s problem these fans are beginning to fear the worst.
He became injury prone the moment we signed him

Injury prone. I see why he joined Arsenal. Fits right in

Ugh, I hope he’s not another injury-prone player we usually get.

What do we think?
The Frenchman may have suffered an injury setback, but given that it’s not a severe issue, the Gunners fans should remain calm. Saliba has already missed seven games this season due to a hamstring injury and so whilst the frustration is understandable, thankfully the two problems are entirely unrelated.
Saint-Etienne’s defence has been solid of late with Saliba thriving under former Leicester City and Southampton boss Claude Puel. Under the 58-year-old’s leadership, ‘Les Verts’ are yet to taste defeat and although at times his playing style has been labelled as negative and boring, Saliba is certainly under a coach with whom central defenders thrive.
