Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos will miss Arsenal’s trip to Leicester City on Saturday through injury. The news was communicated via the club’s official website as the Spaniard is struggling with a hamstring problem. Ceballos sustained the injury during Arsenal’s draw with Vitoria S.C. in Portugal on Wednesday afternoon.

It appears the club’s supporters have yet to be impressed by the 23-year-old and subsequently they’re not concerned by his absence this weekend.

What do we think?

Ceballos arrived in North London with a good reputation but it’s safe to say the Spain international is yet to set the division alight. That’s likely down to the fact he’s only featured in the Arsenal starting XI for 64% of their Premier League games.

Ceballos joined Arsenal on a season-long loan and has been quoted as saying he’s not yet given up his Real Madrid dream (per Radio Marca via MSN). Up until now, the loan-spell hasn’t gone the way the player would have wanted and it remains to be seen whether the former Real Betis man can have a positive influence in the Gunners midfield.

In order to do it, he’ll certainly need a run of games in order to speed up the adaptation process in a new league and country. Emery’s methods seem to stifle creativity and, perhaps, Ceballos is feeling the effects of that.
