Some Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to congratulate Miguel Almiron on his winning goal for Paraguay in their friendly match against Bulgaria.
This flurry of congratulatory messages came after the official Newcastle Twitter account announced the news of Almiron’s 1-0 win on their page.
This post then gathered numerous replies from Newcastle fans pleased with their attacking midfielder’s goal for his country.
Here’s a sample of Newcastle fans happy with Almiron’s goal:
That’s what I like to hear. Hopefully it gives him that confidence boost he needs in front of goal

Almiron’s goal has given some Newcastle fans hope that he will continue this goal-scoring form in their next Premier League game against Aston Villa when the current international break ends.

What do we think?
Since making the move to Newcastle from Atlanta United in January this year for a fee of £21 million, Almiron has yet to register a goal or an assist for Steve Bruce’s side in 22 appearances (per Transfermarkt).
Now with the news of his winning goal for his country Paraguay, it’s understandable why some Newcastle fans have seen this as a spark to kick off Almiron’s goal scoring account for the club. If he can score his first goal for the club in their next Premier League game then perhaps fans will start to show more faith in the attacker.
