Paul Robinson had some surprising views around Jack Clarke and Jose Mourinho when he spoke with Football Insider.

Robinson believes that Jose Mourinho’s appointment is ‘good news for Jack‘ and amazingly has said that he also thinks if “Mourinho is not able to buy anyone in January I’m sure he’ll bring him into his first-team squad.”

The ex-Leeds goalkeeper appears to have made a very large claim considering Clarke hasn’t even been able to break into the Whites starting XI so far this season, with his only two starts coming in the League Cup, which both were pretty unsuccessful not scoring or assisting in either of the fixtures.

Indeed, it would be difficult to make a case for the teenager in regards to getting some playing time at Spurs when he hasn’t been able to get any action for the Elland Road outfit in the Championship, although Robinson clearly believes he could break into Mourinho’s plans from January onwards.

Marcelo Bielsa has said in the past that “no manager would ignore his skill“, so maybe he’s right and Mourinho really will utilise the youngster?

Verdict

We highly doubt that Tottenham will recall Clarke back to use him in the first-team, we would expect them to recall him to then loan out to another Championship or League One side should things not change for the teenager at Elland Road before the January transfer window. Perhaps Robinson got caught up in all of the manager sacking and Jose Mourinho hype, as we can’t see any chance of his prediction happening.
