Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has spoken about Mauricio Pochettino during his press conference ahead of the Luton Town match.

When the Argentine sat down to do the usual press conference, he would have known there will be many people wanting his opinion on the Tottenham manager fiasco. When speaking about Mauricio Pochettino’s achievements last season, Bielsa said: “In the last year he put Tottenham at a high level in the world. This for any manager is a big achievement. For me, it’s more important yet because the team that played the final of the Champions League was a team he built very carefully.”

The Leeds manager also believes that ‘big clubs in the world will try to take him‘ and went on to predict that Pochettino ‘will lead one of the best teams in the world‘. Bielsa’s prediction may become true sooner than most would have thought, with German giants Bayern Munich reportedly considering the former Tottenham manager.

The bond between Bielsa and Pochettino was clear when the Leeds manager said ‘I like and love him a lot‘ and we are certain there will have been some sort of communication between the two since.

Verdict

Pochettino must feel much better after hearing these words from such a wise manager. It wouldn’t surprise us if Bielsa was to assist him in finding his next club, which is looking like it could be Bayern Munich, but in reality, Pochettino can probably go anywhere.

Although pleasantries were always going to be exchanged when asked, Bielsa will know he can’t afford to dwell on his friend’s situation for too long as he will need to channel all of his energy into making sure his Leeds side come out victorious over Luton at the weekend.
