Aston Villa fans on Twitter have been fuming over the latest performance from defender Neil Taylor in their weekend 2-1 defeat to rivals Wolves.
This wave of criticism comes after the 45 minutes Taylor played for Villa in the defeat after coming on in replacement of Matt Targett in injury time at the end of the first half. But Taylor’s second-half cameo resulted in a lot of Villa fans disappointed with his performance.
Here’s a sample of Villa fans not happy with Taylor’s performance on Sunday:
I don’t ever again want to see Neil Taylor in a Villa shirt, he’s a liability both in defence & going forward, get rid in Jan please #avfc

During the second half, ex-Villa winger Adama Traore ran his way through the Villa defence before crossing the ball to Raul Jimenez who headed in Wolves’ crucial second goal (BBC Sport). This result and Taylor’s performance sparked up a lot of criticism on Twitter from unhappy Villa fans, who did not hold back on their opinions.
Neil Taylor is woeful. Worst Villa player I’ve seen in years. #avfc

We need a goal, and McGinn decides to try to play in Neil Taylor to get it. So many poor decisions and sloppy touches today.
Lights out. #AVFC

What do we think?
The Welshman’s performance did not go down well with the Villa fans. According to WhoScored, Taylor was given a match rating of 6.5, one of the lowest ratings out of the whole Villa team, so you can understand the frustration.
This latest defeat was Villa’s third League defeat in a row after losing to Manchester City and Liverpool in their two previous League fixtures, leaving them in 17th place (per BBC Sport).
