Sheffield Wednesday fans were greeted to the news that left-back Morgan Fox had won the club’s Player of the Month award for October, which the club’s official Twitter account announced.
Fox has been instrumental at left-back throughout the past month, averaging a 7.14 rating for the games he played in October. Sheffield Wednesday have had an excellent month, especially defensively; as they won twice and kept three clean sheets, so it was to be expected that a defender would claim the award.
Fox has been much maligned by Owls fans at times and is often subject to criticism from ‘boo-boys’ at Hillsborough, but the Welsh left-back has proved his critics wrong in recent games and fully deserves his personal award.
The former Charlton man will be hoping to continue his own good form when Garry Monk’s side travel to Blackburn on Saturday, as the Owls hope to progress further than their current playoff position.
Some of the best reactions from Owls fans to Fox’s award-winning month can be seen in the tweets below.
Absolutely brilliant, “When the going gets tough the tough gets going.” All credit to fellow Owls fans for recognising this mans determination. Well done Morgan !

That’s put a smile on my face. Let’s hope it gives him the confidence to kick on and make the shirt his. Well done Morgan.

These Owls fans are clearly happy with how Fox has played recently and will be hoping that the left-back continues to impress in upcoming games.
What do we think?
Fox has been fairly inconsistent since joining from Charlton in January 2017, but the 26-year-old looks to have found some form under Garry Monk. The left-back will only improve in this strong defensive side, provided he continues to be trusted in the starting eleven.
