Despite going down a goal in the first half, Jermain Defoe clinched a goal right before the half-time whistle to draw Rangers level at the break. This provided hope for the Rangers faithful who were hoping to see their side get back level on points at the top of the Scottish Premiership. However, as Steven Gerrard subbed on Sheyi Ojo in the 65th minute, their hope began to dwindle.
The player, perhaps, has not had the most successful of spells in a Rangers’ shirt, scoring his last goal of the season back in September against Feyenoord (WhoScored.com).
In fact, as soon as the player was subbed on, many fans on Twitter were ready to settle for a draw.
guess we’re settling for a draw then

Other fans wanted to see other players subbed on. One name that was continuously brought up was in form hotshot, Alfredo Morelos. The Colombian’s man of the match performance against Porto in midweek helped earned the Gers a difficult away point in Europe, however, Gerrard decided to rest the striker against, what was perhaps viewed to be a simpler game against Motherwell.
No. Get El Buffalo on

Announce Morelos

What do we think?
Rangers fans will surely hope Ojo can string together some convincing performances in the future. The Liverpool player will return from his loan at the end of the season unless recalled beforehand (Transfermarkt.co.uk). After calling for fans to lay off captain James Tavernier, perhaps the young English winger needs the same support.
