Lots of fans have been calling for youngster Curtis Jones to get an opportunity to impress against Arsenal, in tonight’s Carabao Cup tie.

The Liverpool native performed well in the last round of the competition, as the Merseyside club defeated MK Dons 2-0 at Stadium MK. If Jurgen Klopp decides to play Jones, then the game could see him star against an underperforming Arsenal team, who slipped up against Crystal Palace last time out.

Jones has spent much of the season in the club’s Under-23 side, where he has impressed so far this season. The midfielder has five goals and four assists in nine Premier League 2 matches, and such form has seen some fans calling for Jones to start tonight against Arsenal:

What we think

One reason fans may be excited about potentially seeing him in action could be down to his MK Dons display, as he received an 8/10 rating from the Liverpool Echo following his display against the League One outfit, with the publication describing his display as ‘promising’.

It is unquestionable that Jones has a very bright future. After performing well at MK dons, tonight’s game gives him a chance to perform in front of Anfield’s home crowd. If he is able to take this potential opportunity it could be the beginning of a very successful spell for Jones, after impressing for the side’s junior teams.
