This weekend sees Tottenham travel up to Liverpool in the first meeting between the two sides since the Champions League final back in June.
Ahead of the trip to Anfield, though, it seems that a lot of fans are desperate for Erik Lamela to be involved, given his performances for the north Londoners this season.
Football London’s, Alasdair Gold has written an article on the attacker, describing the ex-Roma man as a player who divides opinion, but one that Mauricio Pochettino really needs at the moment ahead of this weekend’s clash:
A little piece on Erik Lamela, a player who splits opinion among the Spurs fans but might just be the man Mauricio Pochettino really needs right now. https://t.co/Nh7OjBgNFr

Some Spurs supporters are in agreement with Gold’s view and believes the Argentine deserves a run in the team:
Lamela disrupts defences because he is unorthodox and unpredictable. Deserves a run in the team

I love Lamela, generally been his number 1 fan since he arrived. I hope he can kick on this season

No matter peoples opinion he always gives 100% on the pitch. Just what we need right now.

I don’t know how people can watch football and not realise what a good player Lamela is, everything is forward with him, always trying to hurt the opposition with his passing and runs and because he tries risky passes he sometimes loses ball. He’s tenacious too a fine player.

poch has always trusted him

If he was English he’d be more loved like Winks, a player who’s faults tend to be overlooked by most. Lamela has been the most consistent player all year

Season without injury he will be key.
